Common questions
My GPS isn't sharing while I'm afloat
Open Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Tally Tracker and choose Always. The app needs Always permission to continue sharing your position when the screen turns off.
My Apple Watch isn't seeing the session
Make sure the Watch app is installed and the iPhone has been signed in at least once after pairing. The Watch picks up the active session automatically when you launch it. If it's stuck on the auth screen, open the iPhone app, go to Settings → Apple Watch, and tap "Re-sync Watch credentials".
How do I follow a friend who's afloat?
Ask them to share their six-character spectator code with you. Open the app, tap Join, choose "Follow a Participant", paste the code, and tap follow.
How do I cancel my subscription?
On your iPhone: Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → Tally Tracker → Cancel Subscription. You'll keep access until the end of the current billing period.
My club isn't appearing in Find Clubs
Clubs are only listed once a Super Admin has approved them. If you're a club admin waiting for approval, email us with the club name and we'll check the queue.
I requested assistance — what happens now?
Your safety team, beachmaster, and any organisers running the session see the alert immediately. Stay on the assistance screen so they can chat with you. If you also tapped "Make public", any other Tally Tracker user within five nautical miles can see your position and respond.
Privacy and data
Read our privacy policy for what we collect and how to delete your account.

Safety disclaimer
TallyTracker is a safety companion — it doesn't replace lifejackets, VHF, club safety boats, or your own judgement. Always head out with the right kit for the conditions and tell someone shore-side what your plan is. The in-app disclaimer (version 2026-04-v2) covers this in detail.
